About The Artist

Few people can say that they would rather work than do anything else - F. Douglas McCrossin
has been lucky in that his work and passion are one and the same. For more than 4 decades he
has worked with leather, creating products that are both functional & artistic,
blending past & present to shape his signature style.

Since becoming a member of the Academy of Western Artists and the Working Ranch
Cowboy Association, Doug has been thrown in with many writers & ranch hands and it was their
influence that helped him make the decision to also turn his thoughts into poetry.

Having loved the Cowboy Way of life since childhood, Doug has read everything Western,
both history & fiction, that he could find; and though he lives in Tennessee,
his heart is always in the American West.

NOTE ON LEATHER CARE

All leather will develop a wonderful patina with age.
The use of oil-based products will always darken any leather.
A damp cloth may be used, along with a water-based leather cleaner, if necessary.
The more absorbent deerskin may be washed with very mild soap & water -
do not wring, squeeze out & let air dry.
