Leather Fetish

With time honored methods and materials, Oklahoma artist Keelyn Hamel, of Native American descent, has created these appealing leather fetish using Elk and Deer hide, some embellished with hand applied glass beading and feathers and each filled with items of special interest.  Certain meanings and strengths are attributed to these fetish, which makes them an inspiration for all to appreciate.

About the Artist

A descendant of the Salish & Kootenai Tribes, Oklahoma artist Keelyn Hamel
was born in Missoula and raised on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana. 
She found inspiration for her natural gift of art and detail in the animals & spirits
that surrounded her, literally dreaming up her calling by creating these exceptional
and meaningful works of art--her joy in the process touches
